~*About me.

Hi y’all, my name is Zoë, but most of you may recognize me as Z or “Z.Elliott”.

I chose this pen name as an ode to my dad because he is one of the wisest and smartest people I know. I have been writing since I could hold a pen and used to go through notebooks filling them up with different thoughts and feelings.

Poetry has always been one of my favorite genres of writing and literature. In 3rd grade, I learned about poetry and some of the greats like: Emily Dickinson, Shel Silverstein, and Langston Hughes. I completely fell in love with their styles and from there on I began writing my own poems.

I started formally writing and posting on social media in 2019. I turned my journal entries from my first heartbreak into poems similar to poets like Rupi Kaur and R.h. Sin. Through this experience, I rediscovered my love for creating, writing, & poetry! Over the years, I have been enjoying expanding my craft and learning how to explore different medias of art.

As a poet, my focus is mostly on grief and romance. I’m often inspired by my own personal experiences or those of my friends and universally known. I published my debut poetry collection, “Sweet Sting” in 2023 and it was a surreal experience and opened the doors to new opportunities.

I adore this writing community so much that in 2024, I launched my publishing company called cozy ink press. The purpose of this space was to create a place for creatives to grow and thrive. We launched our first poetry anthology in April 2024 and hope to continue building community.
